This range of flamenco dancers are based on the Sacromonte neighbourhood of Granada, particularly within its cave dwellings, from the 16th to 18th centuries. It emerged from the fusion of Romani (gypsy) traditions with Andalusian, Moorish, and Jewish cultures.
